Family Resemblance

Liberty and Shannon- lookin' alike!

Favorite Thing To Do

Bathing has replaced walking as Liberty's favorite pass-time. She LOVES to splash the water, and doesn't mind it in her face in the least. She gets really excited when se hears the water running.

My Precious Girl

What can I say- God blessed me with a wonderful baby girl, who's happy, interactive, and extremely capable. She's a constant joy in my life!!!

Six Month Pro Shots

On Nov 14 we had Liberty's first pro shots taken- here they are!

"Ohhhhhh"

This is one of those wonderful pictures that Liberty would never allow me to post when she's older, but it's SOOO cute now. She's obviously expressing something while doing her favorite thing- walking.

Our Very Own Fireplace

Liberty now gets to enjoy the fireplace in our own living room! It's not quite as warm and cozy as Grandma's since we still have a concrete floor and construction going on all the time, but it's warm and beautiful- and our own. The pursed lips are a Liberty special :).

Sitting on Her Own

On Nov 8, Liberty just decided it was time to start sitting, and has been doing very well at it ever since. We are very happy, as she is now able to entertain herself for longer periods of time. She loves Grandma's fireplace and soft blanket!

Hanging Out with Mom and Dad

Being with Mom and Dad is the very best!

Congratulations on #35!

Mom and Dad celebrated 35 years on Oct 27. It was a quiet little event, which we three Oguris celebrated with them.

Wearing Mom's Clothes

Just recently we pulled out a box Mom put away 27 years ago, and found all kinds of treasures. These outfits are ones I wore often when I was an infant. We're glad we got them out before Liberty outgrew them!

Busy with Guests

My Mom's brother Doug and his family came down for a visit on 16-18 Oct. We had a wonderful time with them, which included keeping them busy helping us with some final outdoor projects! The guys helped bury a cable and pour the final portion of our sidewalk.
Aunt Carol helped out with Liberty. Liberty took a special liking to my cousin Anthony.
And I'll let you figure out what's going on in this picture :)!

Our Happy Girl

Eating Habits

For a long time Liberty has been studying us as we eat, and showing a definite interest in 'real food'. When she started trying to eat the table, we decided it was time to try something different.
We started letting her suck on real food; she tried carrots, celery, apple and brocolli.

Then, about a week ago, we started giving her little bits of fruits and veggies. She loves them, but is only 'eating' about a small spoonful a day. But we can definitely say that Liberty has started on the road to 'real food'!

Installing the Kitchen

This was what my kitchen looked like a month ago. It looks much more complete today (no pictures yet, sorry). At least this picture begins to give an idea what the final looks like!
The hardest part of it all was my corner sink. It took a long time for Dad to get the cabinet installed, and it was difficult to lower my sink into. But now that it's done, it looks terrific!

A Typical Fall Day

We were fortunate this year to have a long spell of lovely weather here in Iowa. This picture, of Mom and Liberty heading down our perimeter path, surrounded by the beauties of Fall seemed just to perfect to pass by...even if it was taken a month ago!

Outside Touches for the House

During the end of Sept, Dad built two more retaining walls (this is the small one in the above picture, and the large one behind the skidsteer below). He also did all the landscaping over a period of several days, using only this little skidsteer. Dad was one sore guy for those days, but he persevered, and the place looks beautiful!!!
Jayakar also helped for a few hours, and I think he had fun with the machine!

12 October

Happy Birthday, Dad!! We celebrated Jayakar's 34th birthday by going to Waverly to visit my grandparents, since Oct 12 happens to be Grandma Juhl's birthday, too!
