Ransom is two weeks old already! He's growing, almost out of 'newborn' size outfits length-wise, and holding his own weight-wise. He naps more than Liberty did, but eats all the time when he's awake! He's a very good baby, and a real joy.

It's a Boy!!!!
Ransom James Oguri was born at 3:43 am on Fri, Feb 5, 2010. Shannon's labor lasted close to 9 hours. Ransom weighed 7 lb 7 oz, and was 20.5 in long.
The name Ransom in Old English means 'son of the shield'. We find this very fitting, as we desire our son to be a son of The Shield, Jesus Christ. There are many Scriptures which call God our Shield, here are some favorites: Gen 15:1; Ps 3:3, 7:10, 18:30, 84:11, 119:114; Pr 2:7, 30:5. In more modern language, the word ransom means deliverance. We hope this will always bring to mind the deliverance we have through the shed blood of Christ. He is, after all, the ultimate Ransom (Hosea 13:14, Matt 20:28), and through His death we have been delivered from the need to suffer in hell for all eternity.
